From reading other posts, it’s sounding like I could try replacing the board as long wits a decent price (since they’re 20 years old). Unfortunately, I’m still getting the same results even with a replacement keypad. I’ve tried replacing the battery, and eventually just found a replacement OEM keypad on eBay. I use the keypad outside often, and it has become very temperamental, sometimes not even working at all. I have two craftsman garage door openers and just so I use consistent wording, I have two car remotes and keep one in each car, one outside keypad that works both doors, and two push buttons on the inside of the garage. Wanted to check here first to see if anybody has any other ideas first. I’ve been reading some of the other posts, and I’m thinking of replacing the board in my garage door opener. Select the Garage Door Opener you want to add a remote. About ten years ago the motor went, and I had a spare opener that was never installed in the other garage, so I swapped out the opener unit. The light bulb on the opener will also flash twice when you attempt to activate the door with your remote. Craftsman model# 953964 1/2 HP installed in 2000. When the garage door opener is in lock mode, the LED light on the door control will constantly flash and the hand held remote controls will not operate your garage door opener. ![]()
